What the automatic analysis gives you
From video to decision, without watching every frame
Each point at its peak
For every point it picks the frame with the largest emission, from all the frames around it. Measured on 104 field recordings, in about 40% of points that is a stronger moment than a plain selection would show.
Which component, and which part of it
The detection model suggests the component: insulator, cable termination, disconnector, arrester and more, and whether the discharge is on its body or at the metal end. A discharge in open sky, away from any component, is not shown as a finding.
Facts that help you decide
How much of the time the point discharges, continuously or in bursts, how strong it is next to the other points in the same video, and an estimated distance from the pole by GPS, with a normalised count for comparison.
Repair priority by your organisation’s rules
Urgent, plan repair or monitor, by component, where the discharge sits and how persistent it is. Each organisation sets its own table. The inspector decides, and a change from the suggestion is kept with its reason.
Evidence kept on the asset
The chosen frames are attached to the finding on the pole, with the camera’s data, and available on the map, in the field app and in reports.
No misleading numbersA photon count depends on distance, gain and weather, so on its own it does not set severity. The system ranks the way EPRI does: by the damage the discharge can do to the component it sits on. The count is shown as a fact, with its gain and a warning when it cannot be compared.
